Winsor Kerr was established to explore what architecture looks like when Country is the client.

We are architects, striving to create positive contributions to our built environment through architecture and design consultancy.

We are designers and graduates of architecture, working and learning alongside each other, and alongside the communities and Custodians we work with.

We are humans, striving to not mess it all up as we go.

What We Do
Our Approach

  • First Nations Advisory

    We bring Traditional Custodian voices into the design process from the beginning. Working through yarning, deep listening, and two-way knowledge sharing, we ensure the cultural, ecological, and historical presence of Country is embedded in every project we advise on.

    We take on projects where the relationship to Country, community, and culture can be genuinely central. Where materiality, form, and place are inseparable from the brief. Materials carry history. Form reflects culture over time. We take that seriously in every decision we make.

  • Knowledge Sharing

    Knowledge sharing is built into how this practice operates. Through BLAKitecture, ArchitectureAU, university teaching, and sustainability advocacy, we work to advance the industry's understanding of its responsibility to Country and create genuine pathways for the next generation of First Nations designers.
